"He Restores My Soul" - Original Oil Pastel Drawing (Framed)

This painting began quietly during one of my coffee breaks while waiting for my son near his school. I started by drawing the roses in a vase, without really knowing where the piece would lead.

As I worked on the blue vase, the flowing patterns began to look like waves. That gave me the idea of painting a small figure of Jesus walking on the water within the vase. From there, the painting slowly became more than a floral still life. I added a sleeping kitten by the window—a small image of complete rest and trust—which brought everything back to the words, “He restores my soul.” — Psalm 23:3
