60x80 cm. Oil Painting on Canvas.

This is the largest portrait of Jesus I have painted to date. I painted two hands—mine and my husband’s—lifted together in an act of worship, reaching toward the face of our Lord. In the composition Jesus appears as both the Lion of Judah and the Lamb of God, a single presence of strength and gentleness. Every stroke was an offering: a shared moment of devotion captured on a scale that felt fitting for the One who is both king and sacrifice. The work is meant to invite the viewer into that intimate posture of praise and trust.

Symbolism and meaning
- Hands raised in worship — union and devotion; the personal and shared act of offering praise and surrender.
- Two hands together — marriage and partnership; a spiritual covenant expressed through joint worship.
- Lion of Judah — sovereignty and protection; the fierce, royal aspect of Christ who rules with power.
- Lamb of God — sacrifice and gentleness; the humble, redemptive love that restores and heals.
- Lion and lamb together — reconciliation of power and mercy; the mystery that strength can be compassionate and sacrifice can be victorious.
- Crown of thorns — cost of love; a reminder that kingship was won through suffering and service.
- Doves  — peace and Spirit; the presence that brings comfort and guidance.
- Scale and composition — intimacy made monumental; enlarging the portrait invites prolonged attention and deeper encounter.
