I began this painting out of a lifelong fascination with European seaside towns, where blue sky meets blue sea and houses line the shore. I had always wanted to visit such a place, so I brought that longing to the canvas.
At first I did not plan to include any living figure, but after painting the waves I felt compelled to place Jesus walking on the water. I then added a woman in prayer—quiet, peaceful, and full of hope—and her faithful dog at her side, tail wagging as it joyfully watches Jesus approach their terrace.
 
Symbolism and Meaning:
The Sea — both boundary and bridge; a place of fear that becomes a path for grace.
The Terrace — the meeting place between home and horizon, where heaven’s footsteps touch everyday life.
The Woman Praying — a portrait of trust, vulnerability, and the quiet courage of faith.
The Dog Wagging — faithful joy and instinctive recognition; the small, honest response to the sacred.
Jesus Walking on Water — the arrival of help that defies the rules of the world, moving toward ordinary life and ordinary people.
The Dove — a whisper of peace and the presence that accompanies the coming.
